How does it relate?
The real point behind the ‘mom test’ is that in essence you shouldn’t ask anyone if your business is a good idea. The question itself alone makes the other person implicitely lie to you a little. But surely getting into a conversation with people remains a very wise thing to do. People love to talk about their problems, which is what you are after. Understanding the customer will then help to figure out if your ideas are worthwhile.
