Profile Description
Instead of desperately trying myself, I can also use a famous person to endorse my solution.
How this helps you
When starting your company, you are probably not so famous (yet). Use well-known brands to partner with, or find influential people to endorse your solution.
What is it?
Playing the fame game is about using the name or endorsements from well-known and influential brands or individuals. By relating to something or someone that is well known, you can establish a positive link to your own brand as well. For instance having a famous individual using or endorsing your product may increase demand for it. Or by presenting yourself ‘just like’ a well-known and appreciated brand but for another purpose or in another industry, people may be crediting their positive attitude towards the original brand to yours as well.
How does it relate?
The fame and fortune of people are often a great source of inspiration to others. If you can establish a link to something or someone that is infamous and has influence, you are able to get the right attention yourself as well. This can then be a very effective marketing tool to gain traction and boost sales.
Your next Waypoint
Try to find a (locally) famous or trusted person in your network. Get your story straight and see if you can convince this person of the good things about your company or product. See if he or she will be willing to endorse you and use that in your communications.
