Profile Description
Analogies can help me gain understanding about certain features of my product or service.
How this helps you
Thinking of company as animal gives you guidance. Do you want be fast and aggressive like a jaguar, or sweet and loyal like a dog?
What is it?
Analogy is an associative thought-process that allows you to transfer meaning from one subject to another. When using an analogy you take inspiration from a different context to give you a fresh perspective on the problem at hand. For instance, thinking of how a jaguar is able to reach such high speed (with its muscles, coordination, flexibility etc) may lead to new ideas on how to improve the timing in your company’s production process. Analogy plays a significant role in areas like creativity, problem solving, decision making, explanation, and communication.
How does it relate?
Analogy has been studied and discussed by philosophers, scientists, and lawyers. The last few decades have shown a renewed interest in analogy, most notably in cognitive science. We believe it fits as using analogies can help you find solutions quicker.
Your next Waypoint
Car brands, animals, toys, sweets..they can all serve as an analogy to express what you want to achieve. More important that the analogy itself is understanding why you believe this holds true for your company.
